旅游英语学习“星级饭店”要加强管理

　　看《中国日报》的报道，来开始我们的旅游英语学习：

　　The country is planning to accelerate a mechanism with which to strip poorly run hotels of their star rankings in order to protect the image of all the 15,000 star-rated hotels across the country.

　　为维护全国一万五千家星级饭店的形象，国家盘算加快建立星级饭店退出机制，以便将那些经营不善的星级饭店淘汰出局。

　　在上面的报道中，旅游英语学习词汇为star-rated hotels就是“星级饭店”。Star ranking指的是饭店的“星级”，而“星级评定机制”就是star-rating system。目前通行的旅行饭店的等级共分五等，即一星、二星、三星、四星、五星。五星饭店就是five-star hotel。

　　Ranking的意思是“排位，排名”，作形容词时表示“……级别的”、“……地位的”。例如high-ranking hotels是指“高级别的饭店”，high-ranking official指的是“显要官员”。各行各业都有自己的rating system(评级制度)，还有专门的rating agency(评级机构)的旅游英语学习词汇拓展。
