Hi, I'm Peter Cook for About.com Gadgets. Today I'm going to review the Logitech FreePulse Wireless Headphones.

Wireless Headphone Benefits

When you are out exercising or even in the gym you usually see someone wearing an mp3 player or iPod. And attached to that iPod is usually a headphone wire hanging down and bouncing in front of you. So to get rid of my wire I decided to try out the new Logitech wireless headphones.

How do the FreePulse Headphones Work?

This product uses Bluetooth wireless technology - the same stuff that is used in cell phones. A small black box attaches to your iPod and then you place the headphones on your ears - soft rubber holds the headphones on your ears.

They are comfortable to me but the sound is not as full as my cheap wired pair of headphones. To activate the system you have to hold the button on the black box for a few seconds until the red light blinks quickly. Then you have to do the same for the headphones. But you can't see the light blinking if the headphones are on your ears.

You know everything is connected when the light changes color from red to blue on the headphones and the box and you hear the audio tone in the headphones.

Battery life of each part is about 6 hours but neither battery is not easy to replace. To recharge you have to recharge each piece of the Logitech headphone system with the supplied wall charger. You can't charge using USB.

In my opinion the Logitech FreePulse Wireless Headphones do have the benefit of being wire free, but they have negatives of adequate sound, a complicated process on turning on each component. I would like to see a simple on off switch for both. I would also like to see USB recharging.
