时间英语介词的用法（2）

　　1. 表示期限等用 before, by, until/till, (from...) to, within, in英语介词的用法区别辨析：

a) before与by

before 指“在……之前” ：

Please come before ten o'clock. 请10点以前来。

by 指“在……前（时光）；截至（到）……”：

How many English books had you read by the end of last year? 到去年年底以前你看过多少本英文书？

表示“在……以前”时，before 与 by 基本可通用。但 by 还有“截至……为止”之意：

How many models have you made by the end of last month? 截至上月底你做了多少个模型？

b) until/till与to的英语介词的用法辨析

until/till 指“直到……为止”，until 跟 till 可能通用：

until/till seven o'clock 直到7点

由 until/till 形成的句子，句中的动词假如是短暂性动词，则必须用否认句：

I'll wait for him until he comes here. 我将在这儿一直等到他来。（wait 是持续动词，用断定式）

We didn't begin to watch TV until/till nine o'clock. 始终到九点，咱们才开始看电视。（begin 是短暂性动词，所以用否定式）

till/until 常用于"from...till/until"构造中，表示“一个动作的终结”；to 常用在"from...to"的结构中，用来表示“一个阶段的终结”。两者在这种结构中意思十分濒临：

He studies from morning till/until night everyday. 他每天从早到晚学习。

The Americans stayed here from June to September. 这些美国人从六月到九月都呆在这里。

但如果句中不 from...，就要用 till/until 而不用 to：

Let's start now and work till dark. 让我们当初开始工作一直到天黑。（英语介词的用法注意这里不能用to。）

c) within与in

within 跟in 后都必须跟时间段。within 强调“在……时间之内”，不时态的限度；in 是以现在为基准，in an hour 是指从现在起1小时之后，所以个别用于将来时：

He will be back in five hours. 他五小时之后回来。

They worked hard. They finished the work within 2 days at last. 他们努力工作，结果终于他们在两天之内实现了这项工作。

I must finish painting the cat within/in five minutes. 我必需在五分钟之内画好这只猫。

2. 表示时间英语介词的用法表明是起点等用 from, since

a)英语介词的用法是 from 表示“从……开始”时，常用词组"from...to..."：

The meeting will be held from eight to ten. 这个会议将从8点开到10点。

而单纯表示确切的从多少点开端时可用at：

The exam will start from/at 9:00 am. 考试将从上午九点开始。

b) since 指“自从……以来”，英语介词的用法注意：表现从以前某时始终到当初仍在连续，通常用于实现时：

I have been sick since yesterday. 我从昨天就病了。（一直到现在）

We have been missing them since they left here. 自从他们离开这里，咱们就一直很惦记他们。
